Although this station doesn't boast a very impressive size, inside the hub is very modern and well-equipped. It was named after the honorable Eamonn Ceannt, one of the executed leaders of Easter Rising, as a tribute to the rich history of the country. Ceannt Railway Station is a vital part of Ireland railway system, as well as the only train station in Galway.
It boasts 2 platforms and serves trains to Dublin and Limerick. To catch a train to Dublin, you need to go to Platform 1, while Platform 2 is reserved for trains departing to/arriving from the lovely city of Limerick. Keep in mind that the only way to reach Platform 2 is via Platform 1! |
